Tanner F.Colchester, VT34014139Oct 31, 2018Updated reviewWell, I want to edit my previous review. After trying their cold brew a few more times, I must say that it's just very strong. I doubt they forgot to dilute it every time I've been there, which means I was just too sensitive to the caffeine. That being said, be prepared for a very intense caffeine high. The $3.50 cold brew packs a serious punch. The flavor is excellent, very full and intense with a buzz that lasts 4 hours! I can barely finish a cup without watering it down.
I'll also say that the wait time is usually pretty good; I'm in and out with my coffee within a minute or two. They also accept Samsung pay, which is nice. Having a coffee shop/roaster this close to the gym is super convenient, especially a place with owners who really seem to have a passion about coffee.
Note: the selection still seems pretty limited, but that may improve once they have a more permanent location (if that's happening?).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 22, 2018Previous reviewI stumbled upon Kestrel coffee roasters after a trip to the gym. I've been a few times now and it's safe to say I'll keep coming back. Their coffee is good, although the selection is limited. I think they're working on a more permanent space, but for now they're a cart in a hallway, which is tricky, I can imagine. The last time I ordered the cold brew coffee I was shaking for a few hours without finishing the whole cup; I'm pretty sure they served me the concentrate without diluting it. I couldn't finish my cup and I was wired! I will say it was a great caffeine high, but I didn't exactly sign up for what felt like 10 espresso shots.
That being said, they brew their own coffee which fills the hallways with a wonderful aroma that draws you in. Other than the one incident with un-diluted cold brew, this husband and wife team seem to really know their coffee. They just recently opened so there are bound to be some kinks to work out. Give them a shot if you're in the area and see for yourself.
I hope to go back soon and try a proper cold brew at some point. Who knows, maybe the one I had was actually diluted and just really, really strong. We'll find out!
