Part food. Part history. The Edible History Tour will take you back in time to connect the history of Burlington's early immigrant groups to their food traditions, when farm-to-table was a way of life. During the 2-mile leisurely walk, you will be regaled with stories about Abenaki, African Americans, Chinese, French Canadians, Germans, Greeks, Irish, Italians, Jews, Lebanese, and Yankees. To celebrate their tradition of eating local food -- often from their backyards -- we will sample food at five farm-fresh restaurants. This 3-hour tour offers a different side of Burlington's rich history. Mid-May to Mid-October, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, 1 - 4pm. For tickets: www.burlingtonediblehistory.com
