The member agencies of the VNAs of Vermont provide a full range of high quality, low cost home health and hospice services to the people of Vermont. Each member is committed to universal access to medically necessary, cost-effective, home health and hospice services throughout the state; local community governance, involvement and accountability; promotion of client self-determination and independence; and high standards of quality performance and continuous quality improvement.
The VNAs of Vermont was incorporated by the directors of the non-profit Medicare-certified home care agencies in Vermont in 1971 as the Vermont Assembly of Home Health Agencies (VAHHA). The purpose of this professional trade association is to provide one voice to compete in the national and Vermont political arena. In 2014, the VAHHA members changed the organization’s name to the VNAs of Vermont to better reflect the collective state-wide reach of the non-profit members. Today, the nine non-profit VNAs of Vermont (VNAVT) members provide home health care and hospice statewide.
