El Cortijo Taqueria Y Cantina serves up tacos, burritos, and Mexican-style entrees prepared with local ingredients and expressed in fun & fresh ways. We’re a proud member of The Farmhouse Group family, the team behind The Farmhouse Tap & Grill, Guild Tavern, and Pascolo Ristorante. Inspired by The Farmhouse’s popular “Taco Tuesdays” in the beer garden, we opened our doors on December 31, 2011, ringing in the New Year with tacos and margaritas. A stone’s throw from bustling Church Street Marketplace in downtown Burlington, Vermont, El Cortijo resides in the old Oasis diner, one of the city’s most popular eateries in its day. We’re honored to have the opportunity to carry on its legacy and have sought to preserve much of the diner’s original character. The booths, ceiling and counter top seating are all original to the historic 1950s diner. We added a few accents of our own—fun colors and unique touches like old bean cans turned into light fixtures by Conant Metal and Light of Burlington Join us for fresh-squeezed margaritas!
